Welcome to the Fairtrade Lambeth Website

On this site you can find out more about Fairtrade in Lambeth. There is a Fairtrade events listing and a news section so you can find out what is happening and how you can get involved, and a searchable store directory where you can search for your nearest supplier of Fairtrade products.

Lambeth achieved Fairtrade status in April 2004. The Lambeth Fairtrade Network comprises residents, organisations, council officers, businesses and the very active Streatham Justice Group. The Network meets 2-3 times a year and organises publicity & events throughout the year to promote Fairtrade. We have produced a Fairtrade Guide to Lambeth and also keep an up to date directory that comprises over 50 outlets selling Fairtrade including cafes such as Living Space (Waterloo), Cafe Van Gogh (Oval) and Ritzy Cinema Cafe (Brixton). We have a volunteer run Fairtrade 'One World Shop' at St John's Church, Waterloo. We also have listed over 50 businesses, churches organisations that use Fairtrade in their offices. We are currently planning events for Fairtrade Fortnight 06.

The Fairtrade Foundation was established in 1992 by CAFOD, Christian Aid, New Consumer, Oxfam, Traidcraft and the World Development Movement. These founding organisations were later joined by Britain's largest women's organisation, the Women's Institute. Learn more about Fairtrade here.
